This year the annual festival of Eid Al Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice will be celebrated on Friday, July 8. Observed by Muslims all across the world, the holiday is the second most well-known festival among the Islamic community after Eid-Ul-Fitr. The holiday honors the willingness of the Prophet to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah's command. The divine festival which is also known as Eid Ul Adha or Bakird takes place at the end of Hajj, according to the Islamic lunar calendar. The festive holiday begins at the sunset of the mentioned day and will end on the evening of July 12, Tuesday in EG. In the international calendar, the dates vary from year to year, and each year the dates are shifted 11 days earlier.
